Let’s Talk About The Journey We’re On

How are you feeling? I know it has been awhile. But I wanted to check in with you.

Do you feel you’re on a journey with no destination or end? As much as I love journeys, this one feels like we have no choice — and decisions seem to be motivated by fear rather than curiosity.

These strange times are challenging. I hope you, your family, and friends are getting by and making the best of the free time you now have. I hope you’re getting some exercise, too — perhaps stepping outside for a brisk walk now and again.

I know many of us feel isolated and cooped up with cabin fever. We’re all missing the important gift of togetherness — connection — the company of family, friends, and even strangers — sharing experiences and telling stories.

So, how do we satisfy our need for human connection and desire to move and travel — in the time of Corona?

I have an idea! Let’s get together next week! Seriously.

You may or may not remember — I’ve been traveling the world, making connections, and telling stories for more than ten years. I’ve traveled to more than 80 countries, wrote my best-selling book “FORKS: A Quest for Culture, Cuisine, and Connection,” hosted The Food Explorer show on the Cooking Channel, and am filming a new show, “Beyond Borders.” Also, I’ve delivered keynote speeches to thousands across twenty-five states and in five countries.

Yet today I’m stuck in my home in San Diego with my cat, Dar (not surprisingly, she has no complaints.)

So let’s get together next week […]

Accept this as my personal invitation to join me and special guests for an hour of live-stream storytelling, inspiration, idea-sharing, and connection. We’ll taste a little wine, sample tasty dishes, and perhaps play music. We’ll relish moments of spontaneity where viewers tuned in can ask questions. There will be opportunities for some of you to jump on…
